Race for the Cure

Slalom Consulting Portland came together in September 2010 to both fundraise for, and participate in, the Portland Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. There were 40,000 participants in the race, including 11 representatives from the Slalom Portland office.

The Slalom group raised over $500 for the cure, and looks forward to participating in the event again in 2011 with an even bigger team.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the world's largest fundraising event for breast cancer. It consists of a series of 5K runs and fitness walks. Currently, there are nearly 120 races worldwide. Their goals are to raise funds to fight against breast cancer, to raise awareness of the disease, to celebrate those who have survived breast cancer, and memorialize those who have not.

Funds raised by the events help to support community outreach programs, including breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment projects, as well as the Komen Award and Research Grant Program. Learn more at http://ww5.komen.org.
