New York State's Metropolitan Transportation Authority challenged developers to create new software applications that improve the transit experience of its 8.5 million daily riders. Slalom Consulting’s NYC Station Finder uses augmented reality to help people find the right subway station and train to get them to where they want to go.

"The Slalom team had a fun time working on this app and we’re very excited to help transform commuting in NYC," states Frank Traina, Slalom's New York Mobile Practice Lead. 

Features include:

• Find the nearest subway stations just by holding up your iPhone
• Locate subway station entrances, including those offering handicap access
• Find your route, even when underground and without connectivity
• Integration with street maps to help you get your bearings
• Get up-to-the-minute service alerts
