The Challenge

SAVO, the leading provider of sales enablement solutions powering many of today’s most competitive Fortune 1000 sales teams, began hearing from its customers that they wanted a mobile version that would make SAVO easier for sales people to access on the road. SAVO’s product development group recognized a significant opportunity to move strategically into the mobile space, while also creating a platform for future offerings. SAVO needed a partner capable of designing, building, testing, and deploying an entire series of applications and platforms to provide sales support on-the-go while interfacing with Microsoft Outlook.

Our Approach

Slalom recommended a three-part initiative to provide end-to-end design, development, testing, and release of mobile versions of SAVO for the following platforms:

  • A SAVO iPhone application available on iTunes
  • A SAVO Blackberry Application available from Blackberry Mobile Downloads
  • An integrated Outlook plug-in available through SAVO’s website

The Results

These critical apps have been instrumental in SAVO’s ability to innovate quickly in order to meet the demands of the company’s customer base. Now, more business professionals across SAVO’s nearly 200,000 user base can access the information, materials and expertise they need to prepare for sales conversations, when they need it, in the palm of their hands.

This was an initial, but critical, first step in moving SAVO toward more mobility-based solutions, and has led to Slalom working on a dedicated app for the iPad, currently in Beta and set to be released in Q1 of 2011.
