Slalom Mo Bros and Sisters raise $35,850 to help change the face of men’s health.
"Any man can not grow a mustache: that’s easy. It takes a brave man to grow a great ‘stache."
Gary Bedell, Slalom user experience designer
Movember raises awareness and money for men’s physical and mental health. Each year, Slalom Mo Bros from around the globe cast aside their razors—and Slalom Mo Sisters get moving—all in the name of charity. From Fu Manchus to Mutton Chops, our ‘staches raise funds (and eyebrows) to fight testicular cancer, prostate cancer, and men's mental health issues.
Last year represented our strongest fundraising effort yet. Slalom’s 19 teams raised nearly $36,000 for the cause—and grew some pretty amazing works of facial art in the process.
This will be our sixth year participating, and we've raised over $130K for men's health to date.
Team Spotlight: Team Mo Mojo
For the last five years, user experience designer Gary Bedell has led Slalom Seattle’s Movember team, Mo Mojo. Both the bold and the tentative have a place on Mo Mojo. “Whether they’re excited or leery, everyone involved recognizes the opportunity to do good and have fun while they’re at it,” says Bedell. “The mustaches are a great conversation starter, and everyone at Slalom is fully supportive and helps spread the word.”
