Celebrating the public sector
Stories of a better future
Public sector, we want to share your stories and your success as you collaborate across organizations to reimagine the future for our communities—but first we have to thank you for the incredible work you do every day.

A message of gratitude
Slalom's unique consulting model combines deeply personal investment in our local communities with global perspective and scale. We're honored to work side by side with you in the public sector, especially during this time of crisis. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we've been supporting critical responses in many of our cities and, in some markets, at the state and country level. In partnership with public servants, we're building complex data models to measure the effectiveness of social distancing, connecting vulnerable communities to temporary care facilities, and modernizing platforms and applications that deliver vital services.
We're also looking to the future. Together, we will recover from this crisis and continue to build a better world for all citizens.

Moving $350B+ into the hands of small business owners

When Congress passed the CARES Act to provide $350B+ in loans to US small businesses to help them weather the economic impacts of the global pandemic, a small business support organization was flooded with calls, requests, and 20,000 searches per hour. We helped the agency quickly deploy a Salesforce Service Cloud chatbot and nCino loan processing solution to reduce loan processing times from roughly 30 days to around 24 hours, getting money into the hands of small business owners and their employees fast.
Empowering girls and women with gender equity
We helped Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and First Lady Amy Wakeland accelerate gender equity across the city of LA. Now, all 38 city departments—from the LAPD to Engineering—have clear, measurable plans for gender equity. This means more opportunities, and a better future, for the two million girls and women of LA.

Answering citizens' questions faster

Johns Creek, Georgia is the first city in the world to use open data with Amazon Alexa, pulling information from the Johns Creek DataHub to answer constituents’ questions. We helped the city’s data team extend the value of the Alexa skill by using Amazon Connect to handle telephone traffic.
Using data to help students succeed
Atlanta Public Schools leads the nation in transforming data into clear insights that empower educators, parents, and students. Through a multi-year partnership, Slalom helped enable this success with Tableau data visualization tools and an AWS cloud data platform that meets stringent ISO compliance standards.
