Slalom expands delivery network to Houston

Slalom opens its fifth delivery center to bring close collaboration and engineering excellence to companies in the South.

HOUSTON, TX — September 14, 2016 — Slalom, the purpose-driven consulting firm that helps companies solve business problems and build for the future, today announced the opening of its delivery center in Houston, Texas. This is Slalom’s fifth delivery center—with others in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Toronto—and is the latest expansion of the company’s innovative delivery network.

Slalom’s delivery network—a collection of regional delivery centers staffed by agile engineering experts—was founded in 2012 with the goal of creating custom-built digital products and solutions through close, collaborative partnerships in clients’ own time zones—something other companies’ offshore models couldn’t provide. The centers are located near Slalom offices and provide regional, remote delivery capabilities at scale.

“Our Houston delivery center opened with 40 experienced software engineers and architects that value close collaboration with local clients,” said Jeff Williams, general manager of Slalom Houston. “Companies in Houston and throughout the South can now partner with our experts to improve customer experience, build amazing apps, and drive real value from their technology investments.”

Four years since the launch of Slalom’s delivery network, with over 560 employees across North America, the teams have helped clients drive growth, achieve competitive differentiation, boost efficiency, and reduce costs through game-changing digital products and experiences—all while offering the fastest time-to-market available.

“We know the value of easy, real-time communication, which is why we’ve built delivery centers in five major cities throughout the U.S. and Canada—not halfway around the world,” said Mike Cowden, general manager of Slalom’s national delivery center. “Being in the same time zone and location helps us get on the same page quickly from day one and allows us to stay agile and iterate constantly. It’s critical to success.”

The Houston delivery center will use its deep expertise in agile project leadership, software engineering, experience design, QA, and DevOps to help clients create exceptional solutions and reach their business goals.
