Improving patient care through collaboration
When Advocate Health Care wanted to improve collaboration across its network, we helped move it to the cloud and save $1m.
Staying connected remotely is challenging for any organization, and collaboration is especially essential in health care. As the largest health care provider in Illinois, Advocate Health Care recognized that it needed a unified communication approach to connect its associates across locations. For Advocate, this translates not only to improved efficiencies and reduced costs—but better patient care too.
Advocate decided to trade its on-premises solution for a cloud-based communication strategy.
Solution selection and migration: Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite was selected due to cost savings and flexibility. Users were migrated to Microsoft Exchange Online, without costly third-party migration tools.
Transition to the cloud: Building on the Exchange foundation, we worked with their team to plan and implement Advocate’s final move to the cloud with Office 365.
Security support: We helped enable single-set authentication in Active Directory for Office 365 and other on-premises solutions by implementing Active Directory Federation Services.
“We worked with Slalom when we migrated to Exchange Online, so we knew they understood our environment and our associates. Between the executive sponsorship from Microsoft and Slalom working to manage any issues, our Office 365 migration was one of the smoothest transitions we have ever experienced.”
Just what the doctor ordered
Reduced IT costs. Advocate saved $1M by moving to the cloud. Plus, a cloud-based solution frees IT to focus on the big picture business challenges.
Improved employee communication and collaboration. Advocate’s associates no longer have to rely on a one-size-fits-all approach to communication. Whether it’s an online meeting, email, instant messenger, or a PC-to-PC call, associates can easily communicate using the best tool for the job.
Increased patient satisfaction and reduced readmissions. New collaboration tools facilitate patient feedback to improve satisfaction and care quality.
Single go-to collaboration source. Thanks to SharePoint Online, associates can seek and share content and best practices in a centralized repository.
