Creating an
experience that
readers love

When CRN Tech News wanted to take its news to the Windows 8 tablet, we helped create a fluid touch experience that readers love.

If you’re an IT pro or technology integrator, you’ve probably got CRN bookmarked. The news source is considered the Wall Street Journal of the IT world. As such, it needs to connect its readers with the content they need, in the format they want. For an ever-growing number of readers, tablet apps are essential.

“Slalom was an obvious partner to work with to make this happen. They just get things done. They’re one of our best gold partners.”

From iPad to Windows 8

After making its content available on iPad, CRN turned its sights to Windows 8. It wanted to take advantage of early interest in the platform and deliver its web and print content in an app built upon existing backend services, while benefitting from lessons learned with its iPad app.

Mobile dev done right

Our solution architecture, UX and visual design, mobile development, program management, and QA teams were deployed at CRN to optimize the app for a fast and fluid touch-based experience that looked great on both tablet and desktop.

Hot off the [e]press

CRN magazine is meeting readers’ needs by making its content available in a digital format that’s easy to access from any Windows 8 environment—desktop, laptop, or tablet. And, with an average review of 4.7 out of 5 stars, it’s clear that the app has been well received by CRN’s audiences. Go ahead and try the app and see what you think.
