Environmental Impact

At Slalom, we believe it’s our collective responsibility to be good stewards of the planet. That’s why we’re advancing our own sustainability efforts and scaling our expertise to help our customers do the same.

Carrie Falspohler, a director of talent acquisition for Slalom Atlanta, clears weeds in a local community garden with every bit as much enthusiasm as she applies to hiring new team members to build and shape a better future.

Protecting the environment for future generations directly ties to Slalom’s purpose and core values. We believe embracing sustainability will enable us to improve the health of the planet and help meet the challenges of our customers and communities where we work and live.

Our journey to net zero so far

In 2020, we conducted our first ESG assessment

We engaged with employees, customers, communities, suppliers, and partners to review our 2019 practices and set a baseline. The assessment affirmed what we were already doing well and revealed significant opportunities for us to improve.

As a result of the assessment, we set a goal. To embrace sustainability, including achieving carbon-neutral emissions and shifting to 100% renewable energy by or before 2030.

In 2021, we joined The Climate Pledge

The Climate Pledge is a call to businesses and organizations to take collective action on the world’s most pressing crisis and work together for a safe and healthy planet for future generations.

As a signatory, Slalom is committed to measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis, implementing decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement, and neutralizing any remaining emissions with credible offsets.

Every year, on the first Sunday of March, millions of people participate in Clean Up Australia Day. Our local Slalom teams are always happy to join in.

In 2022, we signed the Science-Based Targets commitment letter

Setting a science-based emissions reduction target will help us develop a greenhouse gas reduction plan that provides a credible path to achieve net-zero emissions.

We also began implementing a greenhouse gas accounting platform to improve our emissions calculation process and reporting capabilities.

Making a meaningful impact, together, is the Slalom way. Here team members Ana Karen Perez Garcia and Leanna Dailey pause to smile for the camera during a local volunteering event.

Our planet goals

Our 2020-2030 goals seek to minimize Slalom’s operational and supply chain environmental footprint in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals for affordable and clean energy, climate action, and responsible consumption and production.

Goal 1

Achieve carbon neutrality in our operations emissions and shift to 100% renewable electricity by 2030.

Goal 2

Implement waste reduction programs across all Slalom offices.

Having a way to take action, even if it’s small, is important to maintain hope. Change doesn’t happen alone, and it’ll take collaboration across all of our communities, and our supply chains, our industries, and our governments.
