Slalom Signs Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS to Help Organizations Transform into AI-First Enterprises

SEATTLE - April 16, 2026 – Slalom, the global business and technology consulting company, today announced a new four-year global strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The collaboration will help organizations modernize, transform, and innovate through a comprehensive program that connects modernization, adoption, and differentiation into a unified journey. This recognizes that building an AI-first enterprise requires both a modern foundation and a culture of continuous innovation. With this SCA, Slalom aims to guide customers through every stage of their transformation.

“Becoming an AI-first enterprise requires more than technology; it demands a culture of continuous innovation, an adaptive mindset, and a clear strategic vision,” said John Tobin, executive president at Slalom. “Our collaboration with AWS enables organizations to harness the power of AI responsibly and effectively, providing the foundation, strategy, and tools needed to accelerate transformation with confidence.”

The SCA brings together three interconnected initiatives into a single, scalable framework, meeting enterprises where they are at in their AI journey.

  • Zero Legacy | Modernize All Legacy Systems: Modernizing outdated infrastructure with AI-powered automation and AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, and AWS Transform to accelerate migrations, reduce cost and risk, and unlock cloud scalability. This will aim to reduce timelines on multi-year modernization efforts by 50-70%.
  • AI Everywhere: Creating a culture that understands and embraces the power of AI within the organization to ensure adoption that elevates the employee experience through four integrated pillars: Adaptive Organizations, AI Office, A-Teams, and Agent Factory
  • AI-Native Differentiation: Innovating and building AI solutions that elevate the company's ability to elevate their customer's experiences. By using AI-first engineering methods, Slalom will improve development speed by 30-50%.

"Organizations today need a clear path from legacy infrastructure to AI-ready operations. This collaboration gives customers a proven framework to modernize their foundation, adopt AI at scale, and build differentiated capabilities that drive competitive advantage. We're seeing enterprises across every industry accelerate time to value while reducing risk, moving from pilots to production AI that delivers measurable impact on revenue, efficiency, and customer experience,” said Chris Sullivan, vice president, Americas Partner Sales & Development at AWS.

Through this agreement, Slalom and AWS are creating a new model for enterprise transformation — one that helps organizations move beyond adoption to true AI-first capability, where human potential and intelligence combine to drive agility, innovation, and measurable growth.

For example, La-Z-Boy collaborated with Slalom and AWS to map decades of mainframe dependencies and de-risk modernization with AI-assisted analysis, creating a clear path to full decommission and freeing teams to focus on growth. By shutting off the mainframe, La-Z-Boy plans to reduce annual run costs by more than $1M, while strengthening resilience and innovation agility. This created the foundation for La-Z-Boy to become an AI-first enterprise.

“Slalom was an incredibly aligned partner for La-Z-Boy, bringing fresh eyes and deep AWS expertise that helped us chart a clear path off the mainframe. By leveraging AWS, the Slalom team accelerated discovery, de-risked our modernization approach, and drove forward a productive, collaborative engagement. As we approach our 100-year milestone, reducing technical debt and modernizing our technology remain central to our strategy, with retiring the mainframe serving as a key driver of our long-term success. Modernizing on AWS not only supports that strategy but unlocks flexibility and innovation that will serve us well into the future.” Mark Carrier, director of Delivery Operations at La-Z-Boy.

Slalom has been a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN) since 2010 and is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner. The APN is a global program focused on helping partners innovate, accelerate their journey to the cloud, and take full advantage of the breadth and depth of AWS. Slalom has received 15+ AWS awards including being named the 2025 Industry Partner of the Year - Travel and Hospitality – Consulting – Global, the Industry Partner of the Year - Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods – Consulting – Global, and 2024 GenAI Consulting Partner of the Year – Global. Slalom holds 20 AWS Competencies, has delivered over 3,000 AWS projects in the last two years, and has over 1,300 experienced AWS consultants.
