Slalom Debuts Solar Project in North Carolina to Reach 100% Renewable Power Goal by 2030

SEATTLE, WA – April 22, 2026 – Slalom, the global business and technology consulting company, today announced its invested in a solar energy project in North Carolina that will allow it to match the company’s expected electricity needs from 2026 through 2030. The Baron project uses US manufactured panels, supports fair labor practices, and creates jobs in a rural community while helping lower the cost of energy and reduce air pollution.

“In 2020 Slalom set multiple environmental goals, one of which was to be 100% powered by renewable energy by 2030. We made this commitment because it aligns to our value of do what is right, always, but also the expectations of our people and of our customers. This new development will ensure we have secured energy to meet our commitment far in advance of our 2030 goal timeline and demonstrate that impact-driven action is possible for companies of any size,” said Meagan Breidert, senior director of Sustainability & Impact at Slalom.

Slalom’s efforts will translate into significant progress towards reaching the 2030 goal to be 100% powered by renewable energy and reduce the company’s operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 46%.

“Through our Supplier Code of Conduct sustainability expectations, Microsoft aims to enable large and small suppliers to take action to reduce their carbon emissions. We appreciate the efforts of this group of suppliers to add new carbon-free electricity to the grid,” said Edmond Chan, Group Sustainability manager at Microsoft.

Slalom is working with energy purveyor Ever.green on the project. “Ever.green’s project scorecard gave us confidence that this project upholds the highest social and environmental standards. We wanted to ensure our investment was aligned with our values and creating meaningful impact,” said Breidert.

The energy produced by this project will also translate into supply chain emissions reductions for Slalom’s customers. “At Slalom, our environmental footprint extends well beyond our office doors. As a consulting partner to thousands of clients, we are deeply embedded in their supply chains,” stated John Poling, managing director, Client Leadership in the Carolinas for Slalom. “Our choices impact their choices. That represents great opportunity and great responsibility on our part to do what’s right.”
