Slalom achieves Google Cloud Migration Specialization

Seattle, WA – July 10, 2023 – Slalom, a global business and technology consulting company, today announced that it has achieved the Google Cloud Migration Specialization. This signifies that Slalom has the necessary expertise and success with clients in migrating a significant number of customer workloads from either on-premises or other cloud providers to Google Cloud.

Google Cloud Specializations are awarded to partners that have successfully undergone a third-party vetting process. Slalom passed a rigorous technical assessment that proved the work done by its certified technical professionals resulted in real customer value. With this achievement, Slalom is recognized as having Google-validated skills around the services it provides for migrating workloads to Google Cloud.

“Slalom achieving the Google Cloud Migration Specialization means that we bring a deep level of commitment and top tier set of cloud migration skills to the market,” said Christophe DeMoss, managing director of Slalom’s Google business. “This specialization, combined with our participation as an early adopter partner of Google Cloud’s RaMP program, is a strong endorsement of our comprehensive approach to migrations. We are scaling and operationalizing this success via Amped on RaMP, a joint program to bring high-quality migration experience to more of our customers.”

Slalom’s know-how and client-oriented mindset were evident when working under tight deadlines and some challenging technical requirements with its client Viant Technology. With the combination of Google Cloud technology and Slalom’s expertise in addressing the challenges and devising intelligent solutions, Viant was able to migrate 600 virtual machines, 200+TB of data, 80+ MSSQL databases, and 100 physical servers in just seven weeks, which was three weeks faster than required.

“Slalom has proven its ability to migrate customer workloads to Google Cloud environments,” said Kim Lasseter, Global Director, Partner Advantage Program Design & Strategy, Google Cloud. “We’re proud to recognize Slalom with this specialization and are happy to work together to help customers migrate their workloads and set a strong foundation in the cloud.”

Moving an organization’s data and applications to a new cloud architecture can deliver significant benefits, including lower costs, enhanced performance, and greater flexibility. Any migration, no matter the amount or complexity of the data being moved, needs to be undertaken with strict attention to the many variables involved, both technical (dependencies, application mapping and testing) and human (change management, retraining and staffing). Working with a certified partner like Slalom can give leaders the peace of mind that they are engaging with a highly skilled and dedicated team.
