Brian Turner

Executive President, Americas

Brian works with clients, leaders, and consultants across the globe to continuously help drive success for Slalom customers.

Brian has held roles at Accenture and on the executive board of directors for Rocky Mountain PBS, UC Berkeley College of Letters and Science, and the board of advisors for the University of Colorado Denver Business School. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology.

Brian lives with his wife, Amy, and their three boys in Denver, where they all enjoy hitting the mountain slopes.

Denis Gassmann

President & Country Lead, Germany

Denis joined Slalom in October 2022, shortly after Slalom opened its offices in Munich, Germany. Previously, Denis spent 24 years working with Accenture, where he held many leadership positions in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) and throughout Europe.  

He has spent his career in tech consulting and is extremely tech-savvy, as well as an absolute tech-gadget afficionado. His main mission is to drive businesses and support communities by using modern technologies and modern ways of working.  

Denis has two children (Lea and Henry) with his wife, Ivonne, and loves history, sailing, making music, and playing golf. He also plays guitar and sings and is still active in several music projects.

Jila Javdani

President, US West Region

Jila is a results-oriented, people-first leader who thrives on growth and impact for businesses, team members, and communities. With 30 years of management consulting and industry experience, she brings a breadth of business, technology, industry, and people acumen to bear to drive measurable outcomes across the enterprise.

As president of Slalom’s US West region, she leads strategic growth initiatives, fosters client partnerships, and champions a people-first culture to drive successful business outcomes across the western United States.

 Outside of work, you’ll find her with her husband, four children, and three spoiled dogs enjoying the outdoors, travelling, watching a sporting event, trying her hand at guitar, or immersed in a good read.

Jim Mitchell

Jim has served as Slalom’s chief legal officer since 2011 and has been recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as a finalist in the “outstanding corporate council” category. In March 2013, Jim also assumed the role of secretary at Slalom.

Before Slalom, Jim served as senior vice president of corporate development, general counsel, and secretary of Corbis (later known as Branded Entertainment Network, Inc.), with responsibility globally for all legal and corporate development matters of the company and its subsidiaries.

John Tobin

Cofounder and Executive President, EMEA and APAC

John is focused on Slalom’s geographic expansion and supporting the company's presence in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

He joined Slalom in 2001 to establish the consulting division within the existing company that was owned by CEO and cofounder Brad Jackson. As the founder of the consulting business, John quickly established the company’s core values, amazing culture, and commitment to customer focus that has stood the test of time and become synonymous with Slalom.

Outside of work, John enjoys golf and playing sports with his wife, Ellen, and their three children: Greta, Riva, and Ryan.

Guided by Slalom’s core values, Kristine is dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable programs and experiences where everyone feels they have an opportunity to learn and grow at Slalom. 

Kristine leads the Global People Team to partner closely with our customer-facing teams to create the next generation of consulting while keeping Slalom’s fiercely human approach at the center of everything we do.

Michelle Grover

Chief Technology Officer

As Slalom’s first CTO, Michelle is responsible for developing IT strategy, growing IT expertise to support Slalom’s goals, and evaluating opportunities for the company to learn from and enable its own partner technologies. She oversees the global technology organization, including infrastructure, product engineering, and architecture, with the goal of empowering Slalom teams around the world to deliver outcomes that build better tomorrows for all.

Michelle has been named by Business Insider as one of the “100 people transforming business in emerging tech,” and she is frequently quoted in major technology and business publications.

Michelle has a wonderful son, Dimitri. Both Michelle and Dimitri share a love for books. As avid readers, they will read the same titles to deepen their connection and offer new perspectives on the stories and themes.

Mike Heffernan

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO and treasurer of Slalom since 2008, Mike is responsible for assessing and managing risks and opportunities as they pertain to the finances and operations of Slalom. Mike also serves on the board of directors of Slalom’s subsidiary companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and the Asia–Pacific (APAC).

Mike is a husband and father to three adult children, and his favorite sports team is the UW Huskies, which makes sense as he received his bachelor’s degree from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He has a French bulldog named Louis.

Mike Shimota

Mike Shimota

President, Asia-Pacific & Japan

Mike has over 30 years of consulting and professional services experience running teams and client accounts in the United States, Germany, Japan, and Australia. His extensive experience in growing markets across the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region is critical to Slalom’s plans for significant growth in those regions.

Mike joined Slalom in January 2020 to launch the Australian market in Melbourne and Sydney. In 2023, he expanded the footprint to Auckland, New Zealand. Over the past four years, Mike and the leadership team have been on an impressive growth trajectory, building the market to a ~$90M AUD business ($60M USD).

Born and raised in Silicon Valley/San Jose, Mike followed his childhood dream to the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Upon graduation, he joined Accenture (Andersen Consulting) and quickly gained valuable program delivery experience. Complex program delivery took Mike across the US to Europe, Japan, and eventually to Australia in 2006, where he settled with his wife, Kelly, to raise their three sons.

In his role, Tony provides strategic direction and vision for the company. He is responsible for Slalom’s growth, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. In addition, Tony oversees the Slalom Audit Committee and acts as a Board cosponsor of Slalom’s Sustainability & Impact initiatives and annual assessments.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University (WSU), Tony served as the chair of the WSU Foundation Board of Governors, WSU Foundation Board of Trustees, and other WSU committees. He was previously president and co-CEO of Corbis, and began his career at Deloitte.

Tony is a proud dad to three wonderful adult daughters and husband to his amazing wife, Leslie. He is also a passionate and committed supporter of philanthropic organizations focused on improving the lives of children and families in the Seattle area.

Wayne began his tech career more than 30 years ago with “Big 5” consulting firm Accenture before he successfully launched Slalom’s first Canadian office in Toronto, where he continues to drive growth and help people and organizations dream bigger, move faster, and build better tomorrows for all.

Wayne invests his head and heart in all he does. He believes in Slalom and its purpose—and he believes the time for Canada is now.
