Customer stories

See how we partner with teams to tackle complex challenges and make meaningful progress.

La-Z-Boy Logo

The way we worked together felt very aligned with La-Z-Boy’s culture. The Slalom team’s demeanor throughout the project made the partnership incredibly productive.

Carol Lee
CIO, La-Z-Boy Incorporated

Company summary
For nearly 30 years, La-Z-Boy Incorporated, a vertically integrated furniture retailer and manufacturer relied on a mainframe computing system to support several mission-critical processes.

The challenge
The legacy mainframe environment was costly to host and difficult to support, requiring two retirees to remain on contract for occasional assistance. While one major program was slated for replacement, the remaining workloads were complex, opaque, and considered risky to modify.

The impact
By shutting off the mainframe, the retail and manufacturing leader will reduce annual run costs by more than $1M, while strengthening resilience and supporting ongoing innovation efforts.

Norwegian Cruise Lines Logo

Slalom had a great vision and a relevant understanding of our industry. Their team helped us push the envelope and stretch beyond our own comfort zone to keep our guest experience moving in a positive direction.

Kellay Buckelew
Chief Digital Experience Officer, Norwegian Cruise Line

Company summary
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is a global cruise leader serving over 450 travel destinations. Faced with a complex guest journey from planning to booking, NCL partnered with Slalom to develop Nora, a generative AI-driven itinerary assistant to simplify cruise vacation planning.

The challenge
Planning a cruise vacation requires guests to navigate many decisions across an extended journey that can span up to 18 months. Norwegian Cruise Line needed a way to help guests move through this process with greater clarity and confidence, reducing friction on the path to booking.

The impact
With the launch of Nora, Norwegian Cruise Line saw strong guest engagement, including 94.5% positive sentiment during interactions. Guests who engaged with the assistant were 58% more likely to enter the booking funnel, and those bookings showed a 16% increase in value.

Puma Logo

As a modern brand, we want to be pioneers and develop solutions for which there are no blueprints. The PUMA AI Creator is a unique project that underscores this commitment, and user feedback shows us that we did everything right.

Ivan Dashkov
Head of Emerging Marketing Tech, PUMA

Company summary
PUMA, a global sporting goods manufacturer, partnered with Slalom and other collaborators to build AI Creator, a first-of-its-kind generative AI experience that let fans worldwide co-create Manchester City jerseys and participate in a global design contest.

The challenge
PUMA wanted to transform its e-commerce experience from a traditional purchase flow into a participatory brand event, inviting fans to engage directly through an interactive creative process. This required a scalable, global platform capable of handling mass participation and a generative AI design experience.

The impact
PUMA AI Creator engaged fans around the world, generating 180,000 jersey designs and 1.7 million fan ratings in just 10 days. It activated 54,000 users from 206 countries, and reinforced PUMA’s reputation as a tech-savvy innovator in the global retail market.

Renown Health Logo

Our digital online scheduling program is transforming how patients access care—making it faster, easier, and more convenient to book appointments anytime, and on any device, so people get the care they need when they need it.

Chuck Podesta
CIO, Renown Health

Company summary
Renown Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system serving more than one million patients across Nevada and California. Slalom partnered with Renown to reimagine how patients access care, guided by a simple question: what would the patient want?

The challenge
Patients often faced difficulty scheduling appointments or confirming referrals, with long phone menus, multiple handoffs, and repeated requests for the same information. Renown wanted to improve access so patients could connect with care more easily from the very first interaction.

The impact
By making care easier to reach and more personal, Renown experienced a 35% year-over-year increase in new patient appointments, along with improved patient-reported access and a surge in preventive visits.

Ocuco Logo

Slalom’s overall capacity to provide guidance and serve as a sounding board for a range of issues—even those beyond the project’s original scope—proved invaluable.

Ben Churchill
Chief AI Officer, Ocuco

Company summary
Ocuco is a global optical software company whose products support optometrists, optical labs, and retail chains across more than 6,750 sites in 88 countries. Slalom partnered with Ocuco’s engineering team to support adoption of GitHub Copilot through a personalized change and adoption journey.

The challenge
Ocuco wanted to deliver faster time to market for new product features and updates by accelerating its engineering function with AI. While GitHub Copilot had already been introduced, adoption across the engineering organization was uneven, and the company was looking to encourage a broader mindset shift around AI-accelerated engineering.

The impact
Following the adoption initiative, Ocuco’s developers integrated AI-empowered engineering into their workflows, resulting in a 233% increase in time savings per week. The organization also saw a 30% increase in story points delivered per developer, a 19% reduction in new defects per sprint, and improved code quality reported by 62% of users.

What makes Slalom different?

It’s not just what we do—it’s how we show up, work alongside your teams, and follow through.

We start. We finish.

You work with a consistent, dedicated team from start to finish. No surprise handoffs. No last-minute staffing changes. Just people who know your business and stay accountable through delivery.

Strategy that holds up in execution

We don’t stop at recommendations. We work alongside your teams to turn strategy into action—closing the gap between ambition and what actually gets delivered.

Expertise with real-world context

Our teams bring deep industry and functional experience—and the judgment that comes from solving similar problems under real constraints, not ideal conditions.

Knowledge transfer is the work

From day one, we focus on building your team’s capability—not dependency. Through hands-on enablement and shared ownership, we help ensure success lasts beyond the engagement.

Clear ownership through delivery

We take responsibility for outcomes, not just recommendations. That means staying engaged through delivery, addressing issues as they arise, and owning the work alongside your teams until it’s done.

Let’s talk about what’s next

Share what you’re trying to achieve. We’ll focus on clarity, execution, and a practical path forward.
