Brainstorm is ideation software. It combines GenAI-powered and shareable workshop facilitation techniques, ideas, idea synthesis, and gamification to help humans create more ideas, faster.
Yes it does, and on tablets as well! As long as you have internet, any moment on any device can be an opportunity to Brainstorm.
Anytime you need to think creatively about a business problem. Brainstorm does not work as well for solving technical problems, but if you have a sales, marketing, customer experience, product, or operations problem, Brainstorm should have a game for you.
What sets us apart is the combination of our facilitation techniques + GenAI to prompt human creativity. Infinite whiteboards are collaboration tools, while Brainstorm is an ideation tool. Both are essential, but ideation precedes collaboration. While whiteboards and sticky notes are great at documenting ideas, they don’t prompt novel new ones.
With Brainstorm, you never need to start with a blank screen or whiteboard again. While ChatGPT and other LLMs could be considered ideation tools, they are designed to deliver the statistically most likely response - which translates to the statistically most average ideas without careful prompting. Reviewing lists of ideas from what the known world has already documented online can help users achieve competitive parity, but it is less likely to drive lateral thinking and novel concepts

No. Everything you submit to Brainstorm is protected by our enterprise-grade security, and our GenAI functionality comes from Azure OpenAI, which is a private LLM that does not feed any data into any private or public learning models.
We leverage prompt engineering to tailor responses based on our various facilitation techniques. We do not supplement Brainstorm’s GenAI with any proprietary data, so it is pulling from data publicly available on the internet when providing prompts and ideas on gameplay pages.
Yes, with an investment in an “Enterprise” plan, our team will work with you to structure and securely import your data to provide more tailored GenAI recommended ideas.
Brainstorm’s GenAI is not designed to provide perfectly tailored and novel solutions to niche or company-specific problems. Rather, Brainstorm uses GenAI to prompt, or inspire, human creativity with starting points for ideation.

This game is designed to help you think about your business problem from the perspective of what a totally different industry is known for. A common question regarding this game is if you can edit the GenAI prompt company to be a direct competitor. No, you cannot, as the game would no longer be focused on drawing inspiration from cross-industry comparators. To play this game, select the “Dress Up” game card on the home page, fill out the fields on the innovation topic, then press “Create a Prompt”. You’ll then be given a GenAI prompt to draw inspiration from, an optional dropdown to see AI Generated ideas, and an ideation field to document all the ideas you can think of about the innovation topic based on the inspiration from the GenAI prompt. You’ll notice the 3 flame icons below the ideation field. As you document ideas and press enter (or return) to go to a new line and document a new idea, the flame count will grow. The goal for any ideation section is to activate all 3 flames by documenting 11+ ideas. If you’re feeling stuck and don’t feel the GenAI prompt is helpful, you can press the “refresh prompt” and/or “edit prompt” button to get more inspiration.

This game is designed to help you think about your business problem laterally by leveraging a variety of random elements. Random elements are intentionally unrelated from the innovation topic at hand and meant to help you connect dots with what comes to mind when you think of things associated to that random element. For example... Innovation Topic: Increasing sales for a retail company Random Element: Octopus Association: Ocean, formal dining, suction power Lateral Thinking: The ocean reminds you of a family cruise, which sparks an idea to create custom branded experiences - like cruise ships theme parks, or golf clubs. To play this game, select the “Leap Frog” game card on the home page, fill out the fields on the innovation topic, then press “Create a Prompt”. Innovation often comes from the edges of what’s possible, so this game is designed to help you think about your business problem from the perspective of two different extreme ends of a given spectrum. Don’t worry about the feasibility of your solutions, since the extreme prompts probably aren’t realistic anyway. But solving for the extremes will help you break out of limiting beliefs / perceived constraints around the innovation topic to and discover new approaches to address your topic. To play this game, select the “Teeter Totter” game card on the home page, fill out the fields on the innovation topic, then press “Create a Prompt”.
This game is designed for process innovation. Many enterprise level processes have tens - if not hundreds - of steps, but in this game GenAI will help you summarize your process into 4-6 high level stages (which you can edit), and then you will be challenged to accomplish the same process outcome with the summarized process steps manipulated by either removing a step or rearranging steps. Just because a process has always gone in a certain order doesn’t mean it has to - even if taking out or rearranging a step feels counter to your entire business model or regulatory environment, ideate as a thought exercise on what it would take to operate within that new process. To play this game, select the “Musical Chairs” game card on the home page, fill out the fields on the innovation topic, then press “Create a Prompt”. If you’re feeling stuck and don’t feel the GenAI prompt is helpful, you can press the “refresh prompt” or “edit prompt” button to adjust the prompt based on your knowledge. You can also swap between the “swap stage” and “eliminate stage” buttons to alter how the process if manipulated.
This game is unique from the others in that it is designed to refine existing ideas instead of generate ideas to solve business problems. An idea can sound great in the moment it’s identified, and confirmation bias can blind groups from thinking about potential challenges, industry context, and/or small scale testing to consider before committing to an idea. Round Robin helps kickstart conversation around each of these topics for an existing idea. To play this game, select the “Round Robin” game card on the home page, fill out the fields on the innovation topic, then press “Create a Prompt”. If you’re feeling stuck and don’t feel the GenAI prompt is helpful, you can press the “edit prompt” button to adjust the prompt based on your knowledge.
