Q&A with Todd Sink, Senior Managing Director, Pennsylvania
Community, purpose, and the long game: Todd Sink on leading Slalom Pennsylvania into its next chapter.
Todd, as you step into leading Slalom’s Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey market, where do you see the biggest opportunities to grow our impact with customers, in the community, and across the region?
Slalom’s markets are where our customers, our impact on the community, and our people come to life. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2025, my wife Kylee and I have thoroughly enjoyed the diverse makeup of this community. I’m looking forward to becoming more active as a business leader and working alongside the companies and organizations focused on helping our communities thrive.
What excites you most about this market?
What excites me most about this market is the breadth of industries we serve. Across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey, there are large Fortune 1000 organizations and significant mid-market companies that align closely with Slalom’s capabilities and values. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring industry solutions into the market while also helping companies learn from one another. Some of the best ideas and practices can transfer across industries, and Slalom is in a unique position to help make those connections.
How do you see AI shaping our business and our customers’ businesses?
As the impact of AI has accelerated over the last several years, I’m excited about the opportunity to bring a fiercely human approach to this technology. AI will continue to transform how organizations operate, but people remain at the center of that transformation. The opportunity is finding the right balance between technology and humanity, leveraging AI in ways that help organizations perform at their best while keeping a human-centered approach to innovation and change.
What are your goals for the market over the next few years?
The consulting industry has seen significant disruption driven by both global economic factors and the advancement of AI. Through it all, our focus on the businesses in our local market remains a key differentiator for Slalom. My goal is to continue building on that strength by helping our customers navigate change, deepen our impact in the communities we serve, and position our market for continued growth through the rest of the decade and beyond.
What would you say to someone considering a career with Slalom Philadelphia?
I‘m excited about the future of our industry and Slalom’s position within it as we continue to keep our customers at the center of the work we do. What has always stood out to me about Slalom is our focus on people, relationships, and community. When we focus on creating long-term positive impact for our customers, opportunities naturally follow. That’s what makes Slalom a special place to build a career.
How will you approach diversity, inclusion, and equity as you grow the team?
Throughout my career, I’ve always valued insights and experiences different from my own. The way we work has changed significantly over the last several years, and I believe the strongest businesses will grow with diverse talent, viewpoints, and ways of working.
What drives you?
Time with our customers. Nothing gives me more energy than talking to customers and other business leaders about the transformations they wish to make. If we can help them grow and transform, that’s even better. I’m in a privileged position to be able to connect peers from a variety of industries, which helps them build greater momentum together. We have a community-focused approach.
For our Slalom team, I can say I’m driven, hand on heart, when I see everyone around me having a great day. Anyone in business will tell you how easy that is to say, and how hard it is to execute. How many great days have we had in recent years? There is an imbalance due to factors we cannot control. I am driven more than ever to regain that for as many people as possible.
And I appreciate one of our core values at Slalom is Smile. This may seem a bit different to many, yet being happy and having fun in what we do, is compelling for our people and our customers.
What’s your leadership style?
Being a leader is a privilege. As leaders, we are in a unique position to be able to make a positive impact on someone’s career and overall life.
Leadership is about supporting each person. How can I help every individual to find their voice and realize their strengths?
Next-level leadership is helping your teams to push past any doubts and going for it!
You joined Slalom in 2006, what first attracted you?
Slalom’s approach with people and to the local communities in which we work. We meet with our customers to build relationships, not opportunities. If we focus on long-term positive impact for our customers, the purpose-driven opportunities will follow.
You have over 30 years of experience. How did you get your start in consulting?
I started as a developer in systems integration as I wanted to fully understand the impact of the outcomes we are creating with our customers, not just the job at hand. Great consultant and technologist behavior puts the customer at the center of all we do, and it’s what brought my career to this industry.
When you get close to feeling the impact you have on customers, you can’t go back. It’s energizing and exhilarating. Circumstances change around us, technology advances, ambitions grow, and opportunities appear. Slalom is here when organizations need help or guidance on overcoming challenges and reaching new heights.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
My wife, Kylee, and I enjoy our adventures, whether visiting friends and family across the globe, or exploring the incredible museums and culture throughout the Philadelphia area. I’m also looking forward to participating in more half marathon events across Pennsylvania and beyond; I know I have at least one more full marathon in me in the years to come.
